These terms govern your purchase from Bertram's Veranda and your use of bertrams.boutique. By placing an order, you confirm that you have read and accept them.

Who you are buying from

Bertram's Veranda is a jewellery business operated by Haleema, based in Scotland. The trading entity (sole trader or registered company) will be confirmed on this page before the site goes live. For any question about your order, write to hello@bertrams.boutique.

How a contract is formed

When you complete checkout, you make an offer to buy. We may decline that offer — for example, if a piece has already sold, is mispriced, or we suspect fraud. A contract between us is formed only when we send you an order-confirmation email accepting your order. The checkout success page is a receipt, not an acceptance.

Prices and payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of UK VAT where applicable. If the trading entity is not VAT-registered, no VAT is added or shown. Payment is taken at checkout, processed by Stripe. We do not see, store, or handle your card details.

We try hard to price accurately. If we discover a clear pricing error after you have placed your order, we will contact you with a choice of paying the correct price or cancelling for a full refund.

Descriptions and photographs

Each piece is described as accurately as we can manage. Pieces are handmade in single editions, so the photograph shown is of the piece you will receive. Colour and tone may shift slightly between screens.

Delivery, risk, and ownership

We ship from Scotland to the United Kingdom and to a list of international destinations, which is configured at checkout. Shipping costs and estimated delivery times are shown before you confirm your order.

Risk in the piece passes to you on delivery. Ownership of the piece passes to you when we have received cleared payment in full.

International orders may attract customs duties or import VAT on arrival. These are payable by the buyer and are not included in the price you pay us.

Cancellation and returns

Your right to cancel an order under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and our returns process, are described on our returns page. Nothing in these terms reduces your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Our liability

Our liability to you for any loss arising from a contract for the sale of a piece is limited to the price you paid for that piece, except where the law does not permit such a limit. We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Events outside our control

We are not liable for delay or failure to perform caused by events outside our reasonable control, including postal delays, severe weather, or supplier failure. We will let you know if such an event affects your order.

Use of the site

Photographs, text, and brand marks on this site belong to Bertram's Veranda and are not licensed for reuse without our permission. You may not attempt to interfere with the site's normal operation or scrape its content for commercial purposes.

Governing law

These terms and any contract formed under them are governed by the law of Scotland. Any dispute will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Scotland. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom or the European Union, you keep the protections of the mandatory consumer-protection laws of the country in which you live.
